Waiver Wire Roundup – Week 4
Now that the bye weeks are starting to happen, having a deep bench is even more important than ever. If you have some stars on a bye, here are a few players available that you should consider adding to your roster.
Alshon Jeffery – Owned in 83.2%
Add: Alshon is really emerging as the 2nd option behind Brandon Marshall in Chicago. He should be owned in more than 83% of leagues at this point.
Kenbrell Thompkins – Owned in 62.4%
Add: Tom Brady seems to love Thompkins, and he may be a decent fantasy option long term. If Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola can’t stay healthy, Thompkins could continue to be a solid play year round.
Roy Helu – Owned in 42.8%
Avoid: Alfred Morris’ injury doesn’t appear to be serious, so don’t pick up Helu with the intention of starting him right away.
Heath Miller – Owned in 24.4%
Add: Heath Miller continues to be Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite target. There are several available tight end options on this list, but Miller is the most consistent fantasy option you will find.
Willis McGahee – Owned in 24.1%
Avoid: Fantasy owners excitedly flocked to pick up McGahee last week, but the Browns seem to want to use a platoon of Rainey, Ogbonnaya and McGahee. I would avoid this entire backfield until they figure things out.
Coby Fleener – Owned in 19.9%
Add: Fleener has the most upside of any TE on the waiver wire. With Dwayne Allen on IR, Fleener has a real chance to be a solid 2nd or 3rd option for Andrew Luck in Indy.
Charles Clay – Owned in 17.1%
Add: If you need a bye week boost at TE and you don’t have the option of picking up Miller or Fleener, you can definitely count on Charles Clay in Kansas City for a pickup.
Danny Woodhead – Owned in 16.5%
Add: I’ve been preaching this for weeks, but Danny Woodhead is going to be a stud in San Diego. He is gaining more yards each week, and it appears that Philip Rivers really trusts him out of the backfield. If you haven’t already, please rush to pick him up before it is too late.
Robert Woods –Owned in 4.6%
Add: With Stevie Johnson floundering under the pressure of being guarded by team’s top corners, Robert Woods is starting to emerge as a great sleeper option at wide receiver. With Johnson drawing Joe Haden this Thursday, Woods might be a strong option on Thursday.
Brian Hoyer – Owned in 1.2%
Add: If you didn’t pick up Hoyer last week, you might be too late. I feel like the Browns are going to air it out the rest of the year without Trent Richardson, and Hoyer seems capable in both a fantasy and game capacity.
Ryan Fitzpatrick Owned in .3%
Add: The Harvard grad is back in a starting role in Tennessee after Jake Locker suffered a serious injury. If you need help in a 2QB league or a bye week situation, Fitzpatrick might be an interesting investment.
Rashad Jennings Owned in .2%
Add: Rashad Jennings might only have one meaningful game all season, but he could help you win with that one performance. If you have Run-DMC or another running back out on a bye week, keep an eye on Rashad Jennings.
