Jordan Pacheco, 1B/OF, Colorado Rockies

Height:  6’1” Weight:  200 lbs.

27 Years Old

MLB Debut:  September 6, 2011

Jordan Pacheco is a first baseman, catcher, and third baseman for the Colorado Rockies.  He was selected in the 9th round of the 2007 MLB amateur draft.

In 735 career ABs, Pacheco is hitting .290, with 8 home runs and 85 RBIs.  He is hitting only .239 this season, with a home run and 17 RBIs.

He hit .309 last season.

He hit only 29 home runs in 6 minor league seasons, batting .308.

He is hitting .320 at Coors Field, with 7 of his home runs coming there.

Pacheco does not get enough playing time for the Rockies to be held in a keeper or yearly league.  He backs up Todd Helton and Nolan Arenado.  It may be Helton’s last season, but there is no proof that Pacheco is the preferred replacement.

Using Pacheco at home is your best bet.  He has little power and has flashed most of it at Coors, and his average is much higher there too.  Look for games he plays in that the Rockies should score runs in.  There will be better options out there, but at the right price, he may be worth a gamble.

Favorable Matchups:

He is 8-23 vs. Madison Bumgarner, with a home run and 6 RBIs.

He is 7-15 vs. Patrick Corbin.

Unfavorable Matchups:

He is 2-11 lifetime against Wade Miley.
