Best Waiver Wire Options for Week 13
It’s crunch time for season long fantasy football. Here are some options that may be available in your league.
- Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings
The best word to describe Bridgewater this season would be inconsistent. Last week against an improving Green Bay defense, he threw for 210 yards and two scores. However, he has three games this year under 200 yards, and six interceptions.
- Zach Mettenberger, Tennessee Titans
Mettenberger has looked impressive this season in the limited starts he has had. He eclipsed the 300 yard mark this past Sunday, and has four touchdowns over the past two games. He has match-ups the next few weeks against HOU, NYG, NYJ, and JAX.
- Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers
Hyde has two touchdowns over the last three games, but only 20 combined carries. Gore is clearly the starter, but those fumbling issues could cost him the starting job, and make Hyde a must own.
- Jonathan Stewart, Carolina Panthers
Carolina is coming off their bye week, but Stewart scored his second rushing touchdown of the season in Week 11. He is clearly limited in his potential, but he is a “starting” running back in the NFL.
- LeGarrette Blount, New England Patriots
The timeline for last week for Blount is pretty ridiculous: leaves game early for Pittsburgh, gets cut and goes unclaimed, signs with New England after Jonas Gray goes for 201 and 4 TD’s, and then he becomes the leading rusher on Sunday after scoring two TD’s. If you can figure out the running back situation in New England, get back to me.
- Latavius Murray, Oakland Raiders
Murray only had four carries on Tuesday, but two of those went for touchdowns, including one for 90 yards. Murray suffered a concussion later in the game, and his status is questionable this week. If he plays, he faces the Rams, who are one of the better run defenses in the league.
- Dan “Boom” Herron, Indianapolis Colts
Herron looks like he might be the successor to Ahmad Bradshaw, as he carried the ball 12 times for 65 yards on Sunday. He faces two of the worst run defenses over the next two weeks against Washington and Cleveland.
- Charles Johnson, Minnesota Vikings
Johnson has looked impressive over the last two games, and is quickly becoming a favorite target of “Teddy Touchdown”. He scored for the first time on Sunday. He faces two of the worst defenses against opposing wide receivers in the next few weeks, ranked eighth and 12th respectively.
- Justin Hunter, Tennessee Titans
Hunter caught his third touchdown of the season on Sunday, but has failed to eclipse the 100 yard mark. He has only scored double-digit fantasy points in a couple games this season.
- Robert Woods, Buffalo Bills
Woods posted his first 100 yard game of the season on 11 targets last Monday night. He faces a Browns defense in Week 13 that most likely will put Joe Haden on Sammy Watkins. This should allow Woods to post some nice numbers.
- Louis Murphy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Murphy is another wide receiver that topped 100 yards on Sunday. It will be hard for the production to continue, as he is the third option behind Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson.
